Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Magnesium + cannabidiolic acid is a combination product in which cannabidiolic acid (CBDA), the acidic precursor of cannabidiol (CBD), is stabilized by coordination with magnesium ions. This formulation addresses the chemical instability of CBDA and enhances its pharmacokinetic properties. The combination has been studied for anticonvulsant activity and peripheral symptom relief, such as in restless leg syndrome (RLS). Mechanistically, CBDA acts on several targets including peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ) and serotonin 5-HT1A receptors; it also modulates transient receptor potential channels like TRPA1. Magnesium serves primarily to stabilize CBDA but may also contribute to neuromuscular effects. Proprietary formulations such as Chylobinoid contain additional minor cannabinoids and plant components alongside magnesium-coordinated CBDA[1][2][5].
