Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Magnesium salicylate is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and analgesic used for the symptomatic relief of mild to moderate pain. It is commonly used to treat musculoskeletal pain such as backache and arthritis. As an NSAID in the salicylates class (related to aspirin), it works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes involved in prostaglandin synthesis—thereby reducing inflammation and pain. Magnesium salicylate is available over-the-counter in several formulations and brand names[1][2][3][4][5][6][8].
