Overview

Fatrisil is an antacid suspension developed and marketed by Oak-Faith Pharmaceutical Resources. It is a combination product containing magnesium trisilicate, aluminum hydroxide, and magnesium carbonate. The drug is indicated for the symptomatic relief of dyspepsia, heartburn, and hyperacidity associated with conditions such as peptic ulcers and gastritis. Its mechanism of action involves the direct neutralization of gastric hydrochloric acid, which increases the pH of the stomach contents and reduces the corrosive effect of acid on the gastric and esophageal mucosa. Additionally, magnesium trisilicate and aluminum hydroxide can provide a protective coating to the stomach lining and possess adsorbent properties that help mitigate gastric irritation.
