Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Magnetodrones (branded as Magnetodrones™) is a novel cancer treatment platform component developed by Starpax Biopharma. The technology utilizes living, self-propelled, non-pathogenic magneto-aerotactic bacteria as delivery vehicles for FDA-approved anticancer drugs. These "Magnetodrones" are injected directly into solid tumors, where they swim through interstitial spaces guided by the PolarTrak™ medical device. The device generates precise 3D magnetic fields to trap the bacteria within the tumor and ensure distribution into hard-to-reach hypoxic zones. The bacteria are designed to die shortly after delivery (30–60 minutes), minimizing systemic exposure and toxicity. The platform is currently in preclinical development for several solid tumor types, including pancreatic, prostate, and breast cancers.
