Mahakool

Mahakool is a multi-ingredient topical ophthalmic formulation developed and marketed by Grevis Pharma. It is primarily used as a decongestant and lubricant to treat ocular redness and irritation. The formulation contains **naphazoline hydrochloride** (0.05%) and **phenylephrine hydrochloride**, both of which are small molecule alpha-adrenergic agonists that induce vasoconstriction of the conjunctival blood vessels to reduce redness. It also includes **chlorpheniramine maleate**, an antihistamine that provides relief from allergic symptoms, and **carboxymethylcellulose** (CMC), which serves as a lubricant for dry eye conditions. The addition of camphor and menthol provides a cooling sensation upon application. Mahakool is indicated for allergic conjunctivitis, conjunctival hyperemia, and general eye strain or burning sensations.
