Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Maiguan Fukang is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation primarily used for the treatment of vascular diseases associated with blood stasis and meridian obstruction. It is composed of a complex mixture of herbal extracts, including *Salvia miltiorrhiza* (Danshen), *Pueraria lobata* (Gegen), and *Carthamus tinctorius* (Honghua). The drug is indicated for conditions such as thromboangiitis obliterans, arteriosclerosis obliterans, and carotid artery stenosis. Maiguan Fukang is believed to promote blood circulation, inhibit platelet aggregation, and improve vascular endothelial function. It is currently being evaluated in a Phase 4 clinical trial in China to assess its efficacy in reducing carotid intima-media thickness and stabilizing plaques in patients with mild to moderate carotid stenosis.
