Majing Xuanfei Granules

Majing Xuanfei Granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by the Xiyuan Hospital of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences. It is specifically formulated for the treatment of post-infectious cough (PIC), a condition characterized by a persistent cough following an acute respiratory tract infection, often associated with the wind-phlegm obstructing the lung syndrome in TCM theory. The formulation is designed to disperse lung qi, dispel wind, and resolve phlegm to alleviate coughing. Pharmacologically, it is believed to act by reducing airway hyperresponsiveness and inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators. As a hospital preparation, it is authorized for clinical use within Xiyuan Hospital and has been the subject of multicenter, randomized, double-blind clinical trials in China to evaluate its efficacy and safety compared to standard antitussive treatments.
