Majoon Suranjan is a traditional polyherbal Unani formulation widely used for its anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and anti-arthritic properties. It is primarily indicated for the management of joint disorders, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, sciatica, and general musculoskeletal pain. The formulation typically contains a blend of medicinal herbs, with *Colchicum luteum* (Suranjan Shirin/meadow saffron) as its chief active ingredient, which is rich in colchicine. Other key components often include *Zingiber officinale* (Zanjabeel/ginger), *Operculina turpethum* (Turbud Safaid), and *Cassia angustifolia* (Sana), which work synergistically to reduce joint swelling, alleviate pain, lower uric acid levels, and promote mobility. It is manufactured and distributed by various traditional medicine developers, including Dawakhana Tibbiya College (Aligarh Muslim University) and Hamdard.
