MAK Immune Cells are a type of adoptive cell therapy consisting of a population of mixed-activated killer cells, primarily characterized by the phenotypes CD3-CD16+CD56+ (Natural Killer cells) and CD3+CD56+ (Natural Killer T cells). These cells are derived from peripheral blood mononuclear cells or umbilical cord blood, expanded and cultured in vitro, and then administered intravenously. The therapy is designed to leverage the inherent tumor-killing activity of these immune cells to target and eliminate cancer cells. It is currently under investigation for the treatment of various malignancies, including primary hepatocellular carcinoma, stage IV pancreatic cancer, and cholangiocarcinoma.
