Overview

MAK2375 is a preclinical-stage small molecule being developed by MAK Scientific Management for the treatment of Cannabis Use Disorder. It functions as a dual inhibitor of fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH) and monoacylglycerol lipase (MAGL), the two primary enzymes responsible for the degradation of the endocannabinoids anandamide and 2-arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG). By preventing the breakdown of these endogenous ligands, MAK2375 aims to stabilize endocannabinoid signaling, potentially alleviating withdrawal symptoms and reducing the reinforcing effects of cannabis.
