Malignant Glioma Tumor Lysate-Pulsed Autologous Dendritic Cell Vaccine is an autologous cellular immunotherapy being developed by the Mayo Clinic for the treatment of recurrent glioblastoma and gliosarcoma. The vaccine is produced by harvesting a patient's own dendritic cells via leukapheresis, which are then matured and pulsed with a lysate derived from allogeneic glioblastoma tumor cells. This process exposes the dendritic cells to a broad spectrum of tumor-associated antigens. Once administered back into the patient, these primed dendritic cells are intended to migrate to lymphoid organs and activate a robust, tumor-specific T-cell immune response to identify and eliminate remaining glioma cells.
