Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Mamiran Antidiarrheal Capsule (MMRAC) is a traditional Uighur patent medicine developed by Xinjiang Uighur Pharmaceutical for the treatment of diarrhea, specifically those caused by acute enteritis and bacillary dysentery. It is formulated as an oral capsule and has been approved by China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA). As a traditional herbal formulation, it does not have a single defined molecular target; however, research suggests its therapeutic effects are mediated through the modulation of gut microbiota, regulation of inflammatory pathways such as IL-17 and HIF-1 signaling, and effects on purine metabolism. It is currently listed on China's National Medical Insurance list and is a nationwide exclusive product.
