A cancer vaccine composed of a plasmid encoding the mammaglobin-A gene, designed to stimulate an immune response against breast cancer cells that overexpress the mammaglobin-A protein. The mechanism of action involves introducing the gene for mammaglobin-A via a closed circular DNA plasmid, leading to expression of this tumor-associated antigen and subsequent activation of CD8+ cytotoxic T cells and CD4+ helper T cells specific for mammaglobin-A. This immunostimulatory effect aims to enhance antitumor immunity in patients with breast cancer. Clinical trials have demonstrated safety and induction of MAM-A-specific T cell responses in patients with metastatic or early-stage breast cancer[1][2][3][5]. The primary indication is breast cancer.
