Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Mangosteen extract + grape extract is a combination dietary supplement composed of extracts from the pericarp (outer rind) of the mangosteen fruit (*Garcinia mangostana*) and grape (*Vitis vinifera*) extracts, primarily red grape concentrate or extract. This combination is usually formulated as a beverage or powder for consumption, with both extracts being rich in polyphenols, xanthones, and other antioxidant phytochemicals. Mangosteen pericarp extract may be especially high in xanthones (notably α-mangostin), while grape extract provides high concentrations of polyphenols such as anthocyanins and resveratrol. The mechanism of action involves antioxidant activity (reducing oxidative stress), inhibition of glycation end-products (AGEs), and possible immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory effects. Several studies and patents report immune-stimulating, anti-glycation, antibacterial, and antifungal activities due to the combined phytochemical content[1][2]. The primary indications are as a dietary supplement for general health, immune system support, skin health, and possibly cardiovascular health. The combination is not a pharmaceutical drug, but rather a nutraceutical or dietary supplement.
