manidipine + delapril

Manidipine + delapril is a fixed-dose oral combination of two antihypertensive agents used for the treatment of essential hypertension. Manidipine is a third-generation dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker that inhibits both L-type and T-type calcium channels on vascular smooth muscle cells, leading to vasodilation and reduced blood pressure. It also dilates both afferent and efferent renal arterioles, which may help reduce intraglomerular pressure and microalbuminuria. Delapril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor that reduces the formation of angiotensin II, resulting in vasodilation and decreased aldosterone secretion. The combination provides greater antihypertensive efficacy than either agent alone and has been shown to be well tolerated with a lower incidence of peripheral edema compared to manidipine monotherapy.
