Mant-ADP is a synthetic fluorescent analog of adenosine diphosphate (ADP), in which the ribose moiety is modified with an N-methylanthraniloyl (MANT) group at the 2' or 3' position. This modification introduces intrinsic fluorescence, making Mant-ADP a valuable probe for studying nucleotide-protein interactions and enzymatic activity in biochemical research. The compound closely mimics natural ADP in binding affinity to proteins such as protein kinase A and kinesin, allowing direct measurement of nucleotide binding and release kinetics via changes in fluorescence. Mant-ADP is widely used to investigate conformational dynamics and mechanistic steps of ATPases, kinases, myosin motors, kinesin motors, SecA cycle proteins, and other nucleotide-binding enzymes[2][4][5][6][7]. It is not intended for therapeutic use but serves as an experimental tool.
