MAP1 and MAP2 are human monoclonal antibodies being developed by Ichor Biologics for the treatment and prevention of Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS) caused by the Andes virus (ANDV). These antibodies were isolated from a human survivor of ANDV infection and specifically target the viral envelope glycoproteins Gn and Gc. By binding to these surface proteins, MAP1 and MAP2 neutralize the virus and prevent it from entering and infecting host cells. Preclinical studies published in *Science Translational Medicine* demonstrated that these antibodies provided 100% protection in the Syrian hamster model of HPS, even when administered several days after viral exposure. The development of these candidates has been supported by grants from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).
