Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Mapreg's Post-Traumatic recovery program involves a blood-brain barrier (BBB)-penetrant small molecule ligand targeting microtubule-associated protein 2 (MAP-2). MAP-2 is a protein primarily enriched in dendrites and serves as a critical marker for synaptic plasticity. Following traumatic brain injury, MAP-2 levels and distribution are often altered, impacting neuronal structural integrity. This therapeutic candidate is designed to modulate the MAP-2/microtubule interaction to facilitate neuroplasticity and functional recovery. It is currently in the preclinical stage of development as part of Mapreg's pipeline of neuroplastogen therapeutics.
