Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MAR002 is a potential first-in-class anti-growth hormone receptor (GHR) monoclonal antibody being developed by Marea Therapeutics for the treatment of acromegaly. It acts as a GHR antagonist, blocking the activity of the growth hormone receptor, which is implicated in the pathophysiology of acromegaly—a disorder characterized by excessive growth hormone production. Preclinical studies suggest that MAR002 may inhibit inflammatory and neuropathic trigeminal pain and reduce neuronal activation in relevant models. The drug is currently in preclinical development, with no clinical trials yet reported as initiated or completed[1][3][4].
