Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MAR1-5A3 is a mouse monoclonal antibody (clone MAR1-5A3) that specifically binds to and neutralizes mouse interferon-alpha/beta receptor subunit 1 (IFNAR1). It is widely used as a research-use-only (RUO) reagent to block type I interferon (IFN-I) signaling both *in vitro* and *in vivo* in mouse models. By binding to the extracellular domain of IFNAR1, MAR1-5A3 prevents the interaction of type I interferons (such as IFN-α and IFN-β) with the heterodimeric receptor complex, thereby inhibiting downstream signaling pathways. Preclinical studies have utilized MAR1-5A3 to investigate the role of type I interferon signaling in various pathological conditions, including viral infections, autoimmune diseases, and inflammatory disorders such as hemophilic arthropathy.
