Marduox

**Marduox** is a once-daily topical ointment for plaque psoriasis containing the active vitamin D3 analogue **maxacalcitol** and the very-strong topical corticosteroid **betamethasone butyrate propionate**. Maxacalcitol activates the vitamin D receptor to suppress abnormal keratinocyte proliferation and promote differentiation, while betamethasone butyrate propionate activates the glucocorticoid receptor to produce anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects. The fixed-dose product was jointly developed by Chugai and Maruho, approved in Japan for psoriasis vulgaris, and is currently marketed by Maruho.
