Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MARIAL is a medical device developed by Aurora Biofarma for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR). It contains a proprietary formulation called E-Gastryal, which is composed of hyaluronic acid, hydrolyzed keratin, tara gum, and xanthan gum, along with magnesium alginate. MARIAL functions through a dual mechanical mechanism: it adheres to the esophageal mucosa to form a protective film that shields damaged tissue from gastric acid and promotes repair, while simultaneously creating a physical barrier to block the reflux of stomach contents. The product is available in oral stick and gel syrup formulations and is CE 1370 certified. It is gluten-free, lactose-free, and can be used alongside proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).
