Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Marimer is an over-the-counter nasal hygiene product line developed by Laboratoire Gilbert. It is composed of sterilized, micro-filtered natural seawater sourced from the Iroise Sea off the coast of Brittany, France. The product line includes isotonic formulations (9 g/L salts) for daily hygiene and hypertonic formulations for nasal decongestion, both of which are naturally enriched with trace elements such as copper, zinc, and manganese. Classified as a medical device, Marimer works through a mechanical cleansing action to wash away nasal secretions, allergens, pathogens, and atmospheric pollutants from the nasal mucosa. It is marketed for use in infants, children, and adults, either as a daily maintenance tool or as an adjunctive treatment for ENT conditions such as rhinitis, sinusitis, and rhinopharyngitis.
