Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Marine Active** is a proprietary, fish-derived peptide nutraceutical ingredient developed and manufactured by Yaizu Suisankagaku Industry. It is produced from bonito and tuna extracts, is enriched in the histidine-containing dipeptide **anserine**, and is substantially depleted of purines. It has been studied orally for hyperuricemia and for anserine pharmacokinetics; registered studies describe a Phase 2 randomized double-blind hyperuricemia study and a Phase 1 pharmacokinetic study. The product is a complex marine extract rather than a single defined pharmaceutical active ingredient, and no validated molecular drug target or clinically established urate-lowering mechanism has been identified.
