MarrowStim is an autologous concentrated bone marrow aspirate (cBMA) therapy developed by Zimmer Biomet. It is produced using a point-of-care centrifugation system that concentrates a patient's own bone marrow to create a cell-rich formulation containing mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs), endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs), and various growth factors. When injected intramuscularly into the ischemic limb of patients with critical limb ischemia (CLI), these cells are intended to promote angiogenesis, reduce inflammation, and stimulate tissue regeneration to prevent major amputation or death. The therapy was evaluated in the Phase 3 MOBILE trial, which focused on patients with no-option CLI; however, the trial failed to meet its primary endpoint of amputation-free survival.
