Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A synthetic peptide vaccine consisting of amino acids 27 through 35 of the melanoma differentiation antigen MART-1 (AAGIGILTV). It's designed to stimulate the host immune system to mount a cytotoxic T-lymphocyte response against melanoma cells expressing the MART-1 antigen. A modified version with a leucine substitution at position 27 (27L) has been developed to improve binding to HLA-A*0201. The vaccine has been studied primarily in patients with high-risk resected stages IIB, III, and IV melanoma.
