MAT9001

**MAT9001** is an investigational, prescription-only oral omega-3 free-fatty-acid composition developed by Matinas BioPharma for severe hypertriglyceridemia and related dyslipidemia. It is formulated as delayed-release capsules containing predominantly **eicosapentaenoic acid** and **docosapentaenoic acid**, with minor amounts of other omega-3 fatty acids. The product was designed to increase omega-3 bioavailability and reduce triglyceride-rich lipoproteins, including through effects on hepatic triglyceride production and very-low-density-lipoprotein metabolism. MAT9001 was studied against icosapent ethyl in hypertriglyceridemia and entered a Phase 3 severe-hypertriglyceridemia study, but that study was withdrawn and the product no longer appears in Matinas BioPharma's active pipeline.
