Overview

**MAXCLARITY II** is a GSK-developed over-the-counter topical anti-acne product line evaluated for mild facial acne vulgaris. The regimen used a 2.5% benzoyl peroxide foam cleanser, a 2.5% benzoyl peroxide foam treatment, and a 0.5% salicylic acid toner foam. Benzoyl peroxide provides nonselective oxidative antibacterial activity against acne-associated *Cutibacterium acnes*, while salicylic acid is keratolytic and comedolytic, promoting desquamation and reducing follicular plugging.
