Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**MaxMist** is a ready-to-use, single-use intranasal anesthetic spray manufactured by Bennett Pharmaceuticals for needle-free local anesthesia. The dental formulation contains tetracaine hydrochloride, bupivacaine hydrochloride, and phenylephrine hydrochloride and is intended to produce anterior superior alveolar and middle superior alveolar nerve block for pulpal anesthesia of teeth 5–12; the product is also positioned for intranasal anesthesia before ENT procedures. Tetracaine and bupivacaine provide local anesthesia through reversible blockade of voltage-gated sodium channels, while phenylephrine produces alpha-1 adrenergic vasoconstriction that can limit local blood flow and prolong anesthetic effect.
