Acetaminophen serves as a non-aspirin pain reliever and antipyretic, while aspirin acts as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) by irreversibly inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes to reduce prostaglandin synthesis.
