Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MB-110 is an investigational small molecule antiviral agent developed by Microbio Co Ltd for the treatment of chronic Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. It functions as a potent and selective inhibitor of the HCV NS3/4A serine protease, an enzyme complex essential for the proteolytic processing of the viral polyprotein into mature, functional proteins necessary for viral replication. By inhibiting this protease, MB-110 prevents the formation of the viral replication complex and halts the viral life cycle. Clinical development included a Phase 1 first-in-human study (NCT01821131) evaluating the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and antiviral activity of MB-110 in healthy volunteers and patients with chronic HCV infection.
