Overview

**MB-11362** (also known as RG-7348) is an orally active prodrug designed as a selective inhibitor of the hepatitis C virus (HCV) NS5B RNA-dependent RNA polymerase. It utilizes HepDirect technology to deliver the active metabolite 4′-azidouridine triphosphate, bypassing initial phosphorylation limitations in HCV-infected hepatocytes to enhance antiviral potency. Developed initially by Metabasis Therapeutics through a collaboration with Roche, it was declared a clinical candidate in 2009 but appears to have been discontinued without advancing to reported clinical trials.[1][3][4][5][6]
