Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**MB-6** is an oral, multi-ingredient botanical drug candidate developed by Microbio as an adjunct to oxaliplatin- and fluoropyrimidine-based chemotherapy for colorectal cancer. The 320 mg capsule preparation contains fermented soybean extract, green tea extract, *Antrodia camphorata* mycelia, spirulina, grape seed extract, and curcumin extract. In a randomized phase II study in metastatic colorectal cancer, MB-6 was administered with FOLFOX4; the published study reported no significant difference in best overall response or overall survival, while reporting lower disease progression during treatment and fewer severe adverse events versus placebo. A phase III study evaluated MB-6 with oxaliplatin-based adjuvant chemotherapy after surgery for stage III colorectal cancer, with reduction of chemotherapy-associated neutropenia as the intended clinical benefit. Its molecular target and definitive mechanism of action have not been established.
