Overview

MB-CART19.1-IBK is an autologous, CD19-directed chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed by the Medizinische Universitaet Innsbruck. It is designed to treat B-cell malignancies by genetically modifying a patient's own T cells to express a CAR that recognizes the CD19 antigen, which is widely expressed on the surface of malignant B-cells. In the Phase I Z-CARP clinical trial, MB-CART19.1-IBK is being evaluated in combination with the second-generation Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitor zanubrutinib for patients with relapsed or refractory primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL). This combination approach aims to improve the penetration and efficacy of CAR T-cell therapy within the central nervous system, addressing a significant unmet need in patients with CNS-localized lymphoma.
