Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MB100 is a peptide-based drug candidate currently in preclinical development by Mainline Biosciences. It is designed to target the C-X-C chemokine receptor type 4 (CXCR4), a G protein-coupled receptor that plays a pivotal role in cell migration, hematopoiesis, and the inflammatory response. By modulating CXCR4 signaling, MB100 is being investigated for its therapeutic potential in treating various tumors and fibrotic conditions, specifically hepatic fibrosis and pulmonary fibrosis. In oncology, CXCR4 is often overexpressed and associated with tumor metastasis and survival, while in fibrosis, it is involved in the recruitment and activation of fibroblasts.
