MB12066

MB12066 is a small molecule drug developed by Yungjin Pharmaceutical for the treatment of obesity and metabolic syndrome. It is a derivative of β-lapachone and functions as an activator of NAD(P)H:quinone oxidoreductase 1 (NQO1). By targeting NQO1, MB12066 aims to modulate cellular redox status and energy metabolism, which has demonstrated weight-reducing and metabolic-improving effects in preclinical models. Phase I clinical trials in healthy male subjects have shown that MB12066 is safe and well-tolerated at single doses up to 400 mg and multiple doses up to 200 mg, with a pharmacokinetic profile suitable for once- or twice-daily oral administration.
