MB1707 is a peptide-drug conjugate (PDC) consisting of the chemotherapeutic agent paclitaxel covalently linked to a peptide antagonist of CXC chemokine receptor 4 (CXCR4). It is designed as a targeted therapy for cancer by specifically binding to CXCR4, which is overexpressed on many tumor cells. By blocking the stromal cell-derived factor 1 (SDF-1/CXCL12)/CXCR4 signaling pathway, MB1707 inhibits tumor growth and metastasis. The conjugation with paclitaxel allows for targeted delivery of cytotoxic payload directly to cancer cells expressing high levels of CXCR4[1][2][3][4][5].
