mBCMA CAR-T is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting the B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA), developed by the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University. It utilizes a murine-derived single-chain variable fragment (scFv) to recognize BCMA, which is highly expressed on malignant plasma cells in multiple myeloma. The therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a CAR construct that, upon binding to BCMA, induces T-cell activation, proliferation, and the subsequent destruction of myeloma cells. In clinical trials, mBCMA CAR-T is often evaluated as part of a sequential or combination regimen with other CAR-T products, such as humanized CD19 CAR-T (hCD19 CAR-T), to enhance therapeutic efficacy and overcome potential resistance mechanisms in patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma.
