MBDB (3,4-methylenedioxy-alpha-ethyl-N-methylphenethylamine) is a lesser-known hallucinogenic phenethylamine and an analog of MDMA. It is also known as "EDEN" or "Methyl-J." MBDB was first synthesized by David E. Nichols and later tested by Alexander Shulgin. Its effects are similar to but milder than those of MDMA; it lowers social barriers and inhibitions and produces a sense of empathy and mild euphoria. However, it lacks the pronounced stimulant or psychedelic effects seen with MDMA. The typical dosage is 180–210 mg orally; duration of action is about 4–6 hours with after-effects lasting up to 1–3 hours[2][8][9].
