Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MBI-06 is a Tempol-based small molecule therapeutic developed by Matrix Biomed. It is designed to modulate the activity of Hypoxia-Inducible Factor 1 (HIF-1) and Hypoxia-Inducible Factor 2 (HIF-2), which are master transcription factors that regulate the cellular response to hypoxia and are implicated in cancer progression and the development of chemotherapy-induced side effects. MBI-06 is specifically being developed to mitigate toxicities associated with doxorubicin, a common anthracycline chemotherapy agent. The drug is currently in Phase 2 clinical development.
