Overview

mbIL-15 TCR-T cell therapy is an investigational adoptive cell therapy that involves engineering patient-derived or donor-derived T cells to express tumor-specific or neoantigen-specific T-cell receptors (TCRs) along with a proprietary membrane-bound interleukin 15 (mbIL-15). The co-expression of mbIL-15 on the surface of these engineered cells mimics natural IL-15 trans-presentation, promoting the survival and persistence of infused T cells by supporting the development of long-lived stem-cell memory (Tscm) phenotypes. This approach aims to enhance anti-tumor activity and durability while reducing off-target toxicities associated with systemic cytokine administration. Alaunos is developing this technology primarily for solid tumors harboring hotspot mutations such as KRAS and TP53[6][1][2].
