Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MBP-426 is a transferrin-conjugated nanoparticle formulation of oxaliplatin, a platinum-based chemotherapy drug. The formulation works through a dual mode of action: the nanoparticle delivery system extends circulation time, while the transferrin conjugation specifically targets transferrin receptors which are overexpressed on many cancer cells. This targeted delivery approach aims to improve both the safety and efficacy of oxaliplatin therapy compared to the conventional drug.
