Overview

**mBTCvax** is an investigational, personalized peptide-based therapeutic cancer vaccine for biliary tract cancers. Each patient-specific vaccine contains selected mutated tumor peptide neoantigens from an oncogenic driver alteration plus the immune adjuvant polyinosinic-polycytidylic acid stabilized with polylysine and carboxymethylcellulose, also known as poly-ICLC or Hiltonol. The vaccine is intended to induce neoantigen-specific cytotoxic T-lymphocyte responses against tumor cells expressing the selected mutations; poly-ICLC activates innate immune signaling through Toll-like receptor 3 to enhance vaccine immunogenicity. It is being evaluated by Johns Hopkins in a Phase 1 study with durvalumab and tremelimumab for advanced biliary tract cancer.
