MBX-116 is an investigational live biotherapeutic product (LBP) developed by mbiomics, consisting of a defined consortium of bacterial strains. It is being developed as a co-therapy for the treatment of advanced melanoma, with the aim of modulating the host's microbiome to improve the efficacy of existing treatments such as immune checkpoint inhibitors. The drug is currently in the IND-enabling phase, supported by a Series A financing round that concluded in April 2026, with plans to initiate a Phase 1B clinical trial.
