Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MBX 6180 is a preclinical-stage, long-acting peptide prodrug being developed by MBX Biosciences for the treatment of obesity. Engineered using the company's proprietary Precision Endocrine Peptide (PEP) platform, MBX 6180 is a triple agonist that targets the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), gastric inhibitory polypeptide (GIP), and glucagon (GCG) receptors. The drug is designed to optimize pharmacokinetics and provide a sustained-release profile that supports once-monthly subcutaneous dosing, potentially offering improved efficacy, tolerability, and dosing convenience compared to existing obesity therapies. IND-enabling studies for MBX 6180 are currently underway.
