Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MBX-SD-202 is an investigational, orally administered whole microbiome therapeutic developed for the treatment of recurrent and severe cases of *Clostridioides difficile* (C. diff) infection in patients who have already received antibiotics. It is based on MyBiotics Pharma's proprietary SuperDonor technology, which enables the duplication and production of live microbial populations derived from donor fecal samples, creating a standardized and scalable alternative to traditional fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT). The product aims to restore gut microbiome balance and eliminate C. diff infection by delivering a broad spectrum of beneficial microbes. In Phase 1 clinical trials, MBX-SD-202 demonstrated safety in healthy volunteers with no serious adverse events reported[1][2][3][5]. The technology underlying MBX-SD-202 allows one donor sample to be used for hundreds of patients and is designed to overcome limitations associated with FMT, such as variability and reproducibility[4][5]. Further development is planned for additional indications including immuno-oncology, bacterial vaginosis, and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis[5].
