Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MC-1023 is a synthetic cannabidiol (CBD) oro-buccal spray developed by Medlab Clinical. It is formulated using Medlab's proprietary NanoCelle platform, which creates a patented nanomicellar, sub-micron spray designed for application to the oro-buccal (inner cheek) membrane to enhance drug absorption and bypass first-pass metabolism. MC-1023 is the synthetic counterpart to MC-1020, which utilizes botanical extract CBD. The drug is being evaluated in a non-interventional, multi-site observational study in Australia (ACTRN12622001137785) to assess its real-world safety, tolerability, and patient-reported outcomes in adult patients prescribed the spray for chronic pain and stress disorders.
