Overview

MC-19PD1 CAR-T cells are an autologous, bispecific chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapy engineered to target both CD19 and PD-1 ligands. These "living drugs" are created by collecting a patient's own T-cells, genetically modifying them to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) that recognizes the B-cell marker CD19 as well as programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1), and then re-infusing them into the patient. The dual targeting is designed to enhance anti-tumor activity by both directly killing malignant B-cells expressing CD19 and overcoming immune suppression mediated by the PD-1/PD-L1 pathway. This approach aims to improve efficacy in relapsed or refractory B-cell lymphomas compared with single-targeted CAR-T therapies[1][10].
