Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**MC001** is an investigational allogeneic regenerative cell therapy developed by StemCyte for chronic, stable, complete spinal cord injury. The product comprises human leukocyte antigen matched umbilical cord blood mononuclear cells, including monocytes and CD34-positive and CD133-positive cell populations. It is surgically transplanted into dorsal root entry zones above and below the spinal-cord injury site and is followed by intensive locomotor rehabilitation. MC001 is intended to support neuronal repair and functional recovery through the combined regenerative, neuroprotective, and immunomodulatory activities of its heterogeneous cord-blood cell population. A StemCyte-sponsored Phase II study in chronic complete spinal cord injury, NCT03979742, was terminated.
