Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MC2-01 vehicle is the inactive topical cream formulation used as a placebo control in clinical trials for MC2-01 (Wynzora), a fixed-dose combination of calcipotriene and betamethasone dipropionate. Developed by MC2 Therapeutics, the vehicle utilizes the proprietary Polyaphron Dispersion (PAD) Technology, an oil-in-water delivery system designed to stabilize lipophilic active ingredients in an aqueous base. This technology allows for rapid skin absorption and a non-greasy user experience, addressing common patient compliance issues associated with traditional ointment-based psoriasis treatments. In Phase 3 clinical studies for plaque psoriasis, the vehicle was used as a comparator to establish the therapeutic contribution of the active ingredients within the PAD-based formulation.
